Best Italian Pizza Sauce Recipe

This pizza sauce recipe is  sweet and tasty. If you are looking for a perfect pizza sauce, then this is a good recipe to begin with because extra easy and takes very less time to make. If this sauce gets too thick too quickly while it is simmering, you can add some water to it.

If you want to make a uncooked pizza sauce, you can blend all the ingredients together with a stick blender and leave the sauce for half an hour so the flavors blend. To make a uncooked pizza sauce, use onion powder instead of whole onion. Enjoy the pizza with delicious Italian style pizza sauce.


  • 1 lb crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 4 oz tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped, fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Step 1

Sauté the onion and garlic in the olive oil for 5 minutes.

Step 2

Add the other ingredients except the basil.

Step 3

Simmer the sauce for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 4

Add the chopped basil 5 minutes before the sauce is ready.
